If you don't like mounting a flip up protector on your airsoft replica, but if you want to protect your red dot, this killflash is an ideal solution. On the front of your T1/T2 type red dot sight there is (usually) a screw thread in which you screw in the killflash. Now your red dot is protected against impact from bb's and you don't have to change the look.
